Scottish Tetrathletes Win
Scottish Team at UK Regionals
During the early part of August our Scottish Tetrathletes produced excellent results at both the UK Regional and UK Championship events at Wincanton and Hartpury respectively. As this is an even year there is also and international competition UK vs Republic of Ireland vs USA vs Canada
The Regional event is primarily a team event between the eight regions in the UK with The Republic of Ireland as invited guests. Representing Scotland in the boys event were Jack McRoberts and Jake Wood Gee - To all you boys out there we need a boys team (5 members 4 to count) next year. The girl's team was Siobhan and Kerry Prise, Freyja prentice, Kirsty Liddon and Rosie Lucey. Caitlin Stokes and Lia Palmer were also there as individuals. The results were fantastic - the girls team brought the team trophy back to Scotland after an 11 year absence: Siobhan was first, Freyja second and Kirsty seventh.
On the International side Caitlin was the UK girls captain, and not only gained good results but also led the team. The modern pentathlon style arena eventing provided the additional challenge of riding unknown horses, and in Caitlin's case, at Hartpury, being first on riding a stallion in a packed Hartpury indoor arena.
At the UK championships we had 17 qualifiers, who all performed well. The highlights though have to be taking both the Open Boys and Girls titles this year, with Jack McRoberts and Freyja Prentice. Kate Fowlie took the Intermediate girls with Jess Liddon in 7th and Emma Easton in 8th. Emma together with Mikaela Megginson and Bronya Woodes Rogers took first place in the intermediate girls team event.
